The Department of Education and the Primary Health Networks undertook a consultation with Medicare Australia on the appropriate item numbers that are to be used for consultations with adolescents in the school-based clinic.
The School based clinics are considered to be site visits from the home practice therefore particular item numbers apply for these visits.
Please note, General Practitioners do not need to have a different provider number from their main clinic to work in these school-based clinics.
