Kodie (he/him) has been working in the youth and education sectors, with a focus on health and wellbeing, for over 20 years. He joined the Department of Education in 2017 and is currently managing the School Health Programs and Services Unit which includes the Doctors in Secondary Schools program. Kodie is passionate about improving the lives and educational outcomes of vulnerable young people. Career highlights include working for 5 years in London to improve education outcomes of students in out of home care and managing Victoria’s Safe Schools team, supporting schools with LGBTIQA+ inclusion.

Dr Jessica Herbert
Project Lead, Doctors in Secondary Schools, Department of Education

Jessica (she/her) joined the Department of Education in 2017 and has been a key part of the Doctors in Secondary Schools program since 2019. Before this, she held roles at Cancer Council Victoria and Deakin University, focusing on childhood obesity prevention and community-based interventions. Her PhD research centered on the first Australian Jamie’s Ministry of Food program in Ipswich, Queensland, a community-based cooking intervention. With a strong passion for health promotion and early intervention, Jessica is dedicated to helping populations make healthy choices more accessible and sustainable.
