In this session we’ll be examining dating violence in teens Discuss dating violence in the Australian context Describe presentations of unhealthy relationships intimate partner violence in teens Evaluate teen relationships in the context of both mainstream and family culture Discuss evidence informed approaches to responding to dating violence Formulate an appropriate response to a real world situation through case discussion

Dr Deepthi Iyer, GP Lecturer – Readiness Program, Safer Families team, Department of General Practice, University of Melbourne Dr Deepthi Iyer is a a practising GP and Lecturer at Safer Families, University of Melbourne. She completed her PhD exploring Australian young women’s perceptions of dating and dating violence. She was on the Expert Advisory Group of the RACGP White Book committee, 5th edition and authored the chapters on dating violence and adolescent to parent violence.
